FAQs

Yes, we are.

Many of the financial plans we create include a product recommendation; for example, a pension, Annuity, Flexi-Access Drawdown, and so on. Being independent means we aren’t restricted in the products or providers we can recommend.

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

You can review our entry on the FCA Register, which confirms our authorisation, by clicking here.

Yes, it is a regulatory requirement that we hold suitable Professional Indemnity Insurance.

If you would like to see a copy of our policy, please do not hesitate to ask.

We are retirement and pension specialists; particularly Defined Benefit and Final Salary schemes.

That means we typically work with people who are planning for retirement, want to retire soon or who have already retired. We are experts in Defined Benefit and Final Salary schemes too, advising clients on their options.

Our clients are usually senior managers or executives in large organisations, for example the Co-Operative Group and Rolls-Royce.

That’s impossible to answer until we know more about your circumstances and future objectives as well as understood your current scheme.

We take all our clients through an advice process which allows us to make a definitive recommendation whether or not they should transfer their pension.

Typically, at least £500,000, although Charles Mosley, our Director and Independent Financial Adviser, works with many clients who have pensions worth in excess of £1 million.

You may wish to do that.

However, there are a few drawbacks you should be aware of.

Firstly, every CETV is only guaranteed for a finite period, usually around three months, requesting it before we meet starts that clock ticking. Secondly, we usually need to approach your pension scheme administrators for additional information not included in the CETV. They often take a few weeks to respond, which again can eat in to your guarantee period.

You may wish to request a CETV before we meet. On balance though, it is probably more sensible to allow us to do that on your behalf as it will allow us to ask the supplementary questions we need answering.

We are happy to meet at a location convenient for you. That might be your home, our office, your workplace or an alternative location.

We do not charge for our first meeting.

It’s an opportunity to start getting to know each other. We need to understand more about you and what you’re looking for. While you need to understand how we work and the services we offer.

It is therefore not appropriate for us to charge for this meeting.
